Places in Town



In our town, there are many different places to visit. The cafe is a nice place where people drink coffee and cappuccino with friends. If you like sports, you can go to the sports shop to buy a ball, football, or bat. Outside the town, there is a farm with plants, animals, and tractors.

When you need new clothes, you can visit the clothes shop for jackets and shirts. Animal lovers enjoy the pet shop where they can see parrots, gold fish, and hamsters. If you have a problem, you can go to the police station where policemen and policewomen work. They can help you, but they can also arrest people or give fines.

In town, there are many streets like roadways, alleys, and avenues. Bigger roads include superhighways with fast-moving traffic. People who like to exercise go to the gym to play basketball or handball. When driving, you often need to use a roundabout, which is a traffic circle.

For special clothes, there's a boutique that sells fashionable clothes and expensive gifts. On hot days, many people go to the swimming pool to swim or play water polo. When walking in town, always use the pavement which is the sidewalk made of flat stones.

Young people like to dance at the disco on weekends. If you need money, you can go to the bank where they handle checks and credits too. Adults sometimes visit the pub to drink beer or wine, where a barman serves drinks and people leave tips.

For fresh food and other things, the market is a good place with many buyers and sellers and a lot of goods. If you need glasses or sunglasses, visit the optician's. The department store is like a big supermarket with many different items. When crossing the road, always use the zebra crossing with its white stripes for pedestrians.
