Everyday Clothes

Most people have many different clothes in their wardrobe. When it's hot, men and women like to wear T-shirts. T-shirts are a kind of shirt that are usually made of cotton.

For work or school, many people wear trousers. Trousers have two legs and are not jeans. On their feet, people wear socks and shoes. Socks are often woollen and can become smelly after a long day. Shoes protect our feet when we walk outside. Don't forget to tie your shoelaces so you don't fall down!

In cold weather, a pullover is very useful. A pullover has sleeves but no buttons and no zip. When it's very cold, you can wear a jacket over your pullover. Under their clothes, boys wear underpants as underwear.

Many women like to wear a dress or a skirt. Dresses can be long or short and are often worn at weddings. A skirt is not a dress and can be mini or long.

Jeans are very popular in America and all over the world. They are blue and not like normal trousers. Most clothes have a pocket where you can put small things like money or keys.

For special activities, you need special clothes. When you ride a motorcycle, you must wear a helmet on your head. People who cannot see well wear glasses for their eyes. When you go swimming, women wear a swimming-costume and men wear swimming-trunks.

Some people like to wear a leather belt round their hip to keep their trousers up.
